Blue Merle Aussiedoodle Puppies – Responsibly Bred in North Carolina
If you've seen a Blue Merle Aussiedoodle, you probably remember it. That swirled gray and black coat, a flash of bright blue eyes. They're head-turners. And honestly? They're one of the reasons I fell in love with this breed in the first place.

What Exactly is a Blue Merle?
Blue Merly is defined by its blue-gray, black, and white marbled pattern. Some have lots of white. Some are darker. No two are the same, which is part of what makes them special.
That marbling comes from the Australian Shepherd side. And sometimes the merle gene affects their eyes too. You might get solid blue eyes, one blue and one brown, or even eyes with both colors swirled together. It's honestly a bit of a surprise every time.
Not every Blue Merle has blue eyes, some have brown eyes and they're just as gorgeous. We can't promise eye color any more than we can promise exactly how the coat pattern will turn out.`

Why Merle Breeding Requires Extra Care
We Are Fine and dandy
Here's something most people don't know. You can't breed two merle dogs together. If you do, some puppies can end up "double merle" and that causes real problems. Vision issues, hearing loss, sometimes both.
So we're careful. Really careful. Every parent dog gets DNA tested, and part of that testing looks for hidden merle genetics. Some dogs look solid colored but actually carry a merle gene you can't see in the dogs coat or eye color. If you bred that dog to a visible merle without knowing, you'd have problems.
We test for it. We plan pairings intentionally. And that's why our Blue Merle puppies are just as healthy as any other color we produce.`

Will the Blue Merle Coat Fade?
Maybe. Some Blue Merles stay bold and high-contrast their whole lives. Others fade to more of a silver-gray as they mature. It's called "clearing" and it's completely normal.
We can show you pictures of how past puppies from similar pairings have turned out as adults. That gives you a rough idea. But there's no guarantee either way. Every dog is unique, and they often transform as they age, giving you a truly dynamic look that can never be replicated.
